What is Kundli Milan?

Kundli Milan (Kundali Matching) is the Vedic astrology method of checking marriage compatibility by comparing the Moon-sign and Nakshatra of two people. It is more than a score — each koot examines a distinct layer of life together, from mental harmony to health and children.

The Ashtakoot system measures eight factors and awards a total of 36 gunas. 18+ points are considered acceptable, 24+ is excellent. Our free tool computes the full Ashtakoot score alongside Mangal Dosha, Nadi Dosha and Bhakoot Dosha checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a low score a final rejection?

No. A low score signals areas that need attention, but modern astrologers consider the full birth chart — dasha periods, Venus/Jupiter placement, the 7th house lord — before concluding. Ashtakoot is one layer, not the only verdict.

What is Nadi Dosha and can it be cancelled?

Nadi Dosha occurs when both partners share the same Nadi (Aadi, Madhya, or Antya), costing all 8 Nadi points. It can be considered cancelled if both share the same Rashi but different Nakshatras, or in several other classical exceptions. A qualified astrologer reviews these before concluding.

Does Mangal Dosha always need cancellation?

Not always. Mangal Dosha is often cancelled when both partners have it, or when Mars is in its own/exalted sign, or with certain aspects from Jupiter. Even without cancellation, it does not guarantee problems — it indicates temperament and energy patterns to be aware of.

How accurate is online matching without a qualified astrologer?

Our tool uses the exact classical Ashtakoot formulas used by traditional astrologers, so the numeric score is precise. What a skilled astrologer adds is interpretation — weighing the chart context, remedies, and dasha timing. Start here for the score, then consult for deeper guidance.

Do I need the exact birth time?

For pure Ashtakoot (Moon-sign based), the date and approximate time are enough. For Mangal/Bhakoot/Nadi dosha and deeper chart analysis, the exact birth time and place are strongly recommended — even a 15-minute error can shift houses and planets.
